TELEGRAM from the Governor of Hong Kong to the
Secretary of State for the Colonies.

Your telegram of 5th September Legislative Counci; today voted 250,000 dollars for relief of distress.
Chamber of Commerce has opened relief fund and is
arranging fqr despatch of
Stores
and
medical comforts. Five hundred tons of rice sent
today 80,000 pounds meat leaving tomorrow also large
supply of medical stores. Committee of Chamber of
? ? ? Commerce are in touch with Admiral and co-operating
fully.
